4 years in the making!

Lulu's occupies 7,500 + sf on the ground floor, with 3,500 sf of outdoor play space.

Our centre designs has achieved our goal of becoming a fully licensed Child Care Centre for:

24      Infant|Toddlers       50      3 to 5 Year Olds

Creating safe, engaging and smart spaces for children is part of our framework.

Our home, the ground floor of The Aranza, a workforce housing building, was purpose built to allow for our child care centre to exist. Thoughtfully designed with flow, community and childhood in mind, we are creating flexible environments. Environments that are welcoming, engaging, fun and collaborative. Environments that are responsive to  children and educators, as they construct knowledge together.

At Lulu's, we will PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES

To participate in many varied learning experiences, integrating many knowledge areas.

To explore, create, use languages, and play.
To practice mindfulness and yoga: breath control, simple meditation and the adoption of specific postures for health and relaxation.

To play a valued part in real life activities - cooking, caring for plants, producing art, interacting with the community, creating dialogue...

To build relationships, foster a sense of self, curiosity and care for others.

To use real tools and begin to develop practical skills.
To engage in physical challenges and test one’s limits.   To develop collaborative, investigative, and critical thinking skills.
To encourage a sense of wonder about the natural world and care for our surroundings.   For unstructured time - time “to be” and to contemplate in a natural setting.

...to become architects, scientists, poets, researchers, artists, teachers, actors, singers, songwriters, engineers, arborists, stewards, musicians, publishers, illustrators, voters, nutritionists, advocates, neighbours, creative directors, urban planners, explorers…

The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences. We must widen the range of topics and goals, the types of situations we offer and their degree of structure, the kinds and combinations of resources and materials, and the possible interactions with things, peers, and adults.
